our mission

"100 Women In Gold" is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization created to promote, support and empower women athletes matriculating at Fort Valley State University.

The organization is committed to assisting women athletes achieve intellectually, physically and socially while competing at the highest level. The 100 Women In Gold (WIG) shall encourage community involvement and will develop and conduct fund-raising activities.

Allocation of funds is for the sole purpose of improving the quality of the women's athletic programs. The objectives of the organization are as follows:

  • to sponsor fund-raising efforts for extra funding for women athletes;

  • to enhance the experience of women athletes;

  • to establish connections between women athletes at FVSU and alumnae and supporters;

  • to provide a support system for mentorship, networking and advising;

  • to seek out financial resources for women athletes (grants, scholarships, internships, etc.);

  • to assist in tutoring programs; and

  • to seek to build a bigger fan base for women sports.

our history

"100 Women In Gold" (WIG) is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Service Organization that was chartered under the Wildcat Nation, Inc. Booster Club in June, 2010. The goal of WIG is to promote, support and empower women athletes matriculating at Fort Valley State University.

100 Women In Gold became incorporated December, 2010. The organizaton was co-founded by Gwendolyn Davis Reeves and Winnie Baker Ross. Since the chartering date, women of the organization are working to fulfill the initiatives established to support women athletics through WIG committees' efforts and community partnerships.

The future of 100 Women In Gold, Inc. is promising as the organization continues to meet its obligations for servicing women student-athletes matriculating at Fort Valley State University.
